Edmund O'Callaghan: (1797-1880) An Irish immigrant who settled in Albany in 1837, he devoted himself to historical research. Among his writings: A History of New Netherlands (1846), A Documentary History of New York (1849 1851), Documents Relative to the Colonial History of New York (1853 1861).
